Pictures:
In this set of photos, I wanted to focus on showing more of the non emission dust in the nebulae. I feel like showing this dust gives an extra layer of depth to the images. In order for the dust to be visible in the images, it means having a really low amount of noise in the photos because not only are the nebula dark on their own, the dust is 10x darker. I was able to get rid of most of the harsh noise in the images by gathering many images of these objects and stacking them to average out random noise in the image. Each one of the photos I took this term is a combination of around 150-200 images each 2-3 minutes long in exposure. Then, after I stacked the images into 1 large file, I took it into photoshop and edited it. I used techniques that I've learned over the past few months to remove light pollution, remove gradients, and bring out the dark parts of the image. Below is a slide show showing my editing process for these images
This video was made using blender, a free 3d modeling and animation software. Over the past few weeks SpaceX, a space craft engineering company, has made significant developments on their newest rocket, Starship. I have felt inspired by the new developments, with a hope that it will fly in the next few weeks, so I decided to create an animation of a concept launch of the full vehicle. Using blender I modeled the rocket completely from scratch with no reference, and using completely procedural textures. After that I animated different sequences of the rocket launch that as of right now are true to life of what would happen during a real launch. I added fire using a particle system and different sharers to make it appear as though it is fire. I rendered all of it out, which for the 1 minute clip, took about 120 hours to render. After it was all done rending I took all the clips and imported them into a new free software called DaVinci Resolve. I then downloaded some royalty free music from the YouTube Audio Library, and some sound effects from Nasa. I edited it together and exported it to YouTube as a finished product.
